# `cwd`

This option specifies the path to the project's root directory.

::: info
By default, it uses the value obtained from [`process.cwd()`](https://nodejs.org/docs/latest-v20.x/api/process.html#processcwd).
:::

::: tip For users with a monorepo
When using a pnpm workspace or similar setup, running actions-vercel with each project's directory specified in `cwd` may prevent dependencies from being installed correctly. For details, see [Using a monorepo](/guide/monorepo.md).
:::

## Usage example

```yaml {31} file="/snippets/references/inputs/cwd.yml"
name: Vercel
on:
  push:
    branches: [main]
  pull_request:
concurrency:
  group: ${{ github.workflow }}-${{ github.ref }}
  cancel-in-progress: true
jobs:
  deploy:
    name: Deploy
    runs-on: ubuntu-latest
    permissions:
      contents: read
      deployments: write
      statuses: write
      pull-requests: write
    steps:
      - uses: actions/checkout@v7
      - uses: nexterias/actions-vercel@v2
        with:
          token: ${{ secrets.VERCEL_TOKEN }}
          org-id: ${{ secrets.VERCEL_ORG_ID }}
          project-id: ${{ secrets.VERCEL_PROJECT_ID }}
          production: ${{ github.ref == 'refs/heads/main' }}
